Theatre courses in Hobart, Tasmania, are available at the Hobart Campus of the Tasmanian Polytechnic.

The Salamanca Performing Arts Course in Entertainment aims to provide graduates with the broad knowledge and practical skills required to gain and sustain professional employment in the arts and entertainment industry

  • as a member of the technical crew on a show or event
  • as an employee of a theatre-based or independent production company
  • as a member or leader of a technical team at a variety of venues.

Under an auspicial arrangement with the Tasmanian Polytechnic, SPACE delivers training over two years in a wide range of units from the Entertainment Training Package. Students can enroll in one of three specialist fields:

  • Audio/Lighting
  • Sets and Props Construction
  • Stage Management

Training is delivered at the Tasmanian Polytechnic Mt Nelson Campus and utilises the facilities of the 600 seat Mount Nelson Theatre, the Drama Studio and workshop and other campus resources such as computer labs, technical workshops and library.
